Academies a la Carte!
An Academy a La Carte is a three-weekend offering that allows singers to participate for one, two or all three weekends. We have created this option as a response to singer feedback and we hope this new offering allows singers to fit Bob's Academy workshops into their busy schedules! Bob will be offering A La Carte! Academies in Amsterdam, Baltimore MD and Brattleboro, Vermont in 2016-17 - Learn more and register!

Just a few words to tell you that it was such a magic encounter for me, both musically and from a human point of view. Short yet fascinating, focused yet "expanded". As I already told you, I'm sure that your approach to students and music is always the same wherever you teach. But I felt so at ease when we were working together as if you perfectly know the best way to "talk" to me and make me pay attention even to small details. More than that, such a "familiar" feeling of tenderness, respect and "nearness" as if we had already met and known each other for a very long time. Perhaps this is just the magic of music or, and this is what I do think, the Beauty of Life bringing people to meet more than once! In either case……an extraordinary gift.

Yes, we truly had quite a unique week together with Bob who, I believe, surprised us all, not only with his musicality, but with his humor, kind spirit and generosity. He is quite a remarkable teacher with keen pedagogical skill yet, more important, he has an intuition for each singer's needs. Bob's Vocal Jazz Academy Programs
We are proud to offer vocalists a unique curriculum that includes 100 hours of training in vocal improvisation plus experience in a creative vocal ensemble or jazz choir, culminating in a final concert. Bob Stoloff's Vocal Jazz Academies include in-depth training in vocal improvisation, instru-vocal articulation, rhythm, group improvisation, stage performance skills, and music theory. The Creative Vocal Ensemble or Jazz Choir component is a unique program designed to train singers how to blend, articulate, harmonize and improvise by performing jazz arrangements. The Vocal Jazz Academies are held around the world - click below to learn more about the specifics in each program location. The program is comprised of five intensive weekend sessions held over a seven-month period.
